Dr Christos Tryfonides graduated from Athens Medical School with Honors in 2004 and continued his specialty training at Sheba Medical Center, TelHashomer, Israel – 2008-2013, where he became a consultant ophthalmologist – ophthalmic surgeon. Thereafter he continued to subspecialize in the field of Oculoplastic Surgery for 1 year (2014) in Sheba Medical Center, TelHashomer and Asaf Harofe Medical Center under Prof Guy Ben Simon and Prof Morris Hartstein. From 2014 – 2016 he continued his training in Oculoplastic Surgery in Manchester Royal Eye Hospital (MREH), Manchester, UK under Mr Saj Ataullah and Ms Anne Cook. Since 2016 he has a private practice at Aretaeio Private Hospital where he runs a general ophthalmology and oculoplastics clinics as well as operations. His work spectrum includes management of General Ophthalmology conditions such as ophthalmic check-ups and refractions, dry eye, infections, allergies, diabetic screening and other common retinal/macular conditions like retinal tear management, macular degenerations or maculopathies, ocular trauma as well as Cataract (Phacoemulcification) and Pterygium surgery (Excision + Autograft) which is done at the American Medical Center, Nicosia. Dr Christos Tryfonides tries also to focus more closely in more specialised conditions of the periocular region (eyelids, lacrimal system and orbits) like Chalazions, ectropions/entropions, eyelid benign and malignant tumors, eyelid ptosis and cosmetic/functional blepharoplasties or complication repairs post blepharoplasty, watery eyes with blocked tear ducts, Thyroid Eye Disease (Graves disease) and more.
